Calhoun Co. Civic Chorale Celebrates Alabama Composer Nov. 13

On Sunday, November 13, 2005 at 3:00 p.m., the Calhoun County Civic Chorale will present its winter concert at the Church of St. Michael and All Angels in Anniston, Alabama. The program consists of the K. Lee Scott Christmas Cantata and the Vivaldi Gloria.

K. Lee Scott is an Alabama composer who lives in Birmingham. The Chorale is performing his cantata as part of the JSU Choral Department’s ”Celebration of Alabama Composers.” The Chorale is under the direction of Dr. Patricia Corbin, JSU Director of Choral Activity. The choir is comprised of members of the community, JSU students and faculty.

Other featured performers are guest organist, David Brensinger, Director of Music at the Holy Innocents Epicopal Church in Atlanta; the JSU Faculty Brass Quintet (John Merriman, Cameron Crotts, Jeff Solomon, James Roberts and Chris Hosmer); JSU music faculty Nathan Wight and Jerryl Davis; and Chorale members Anne Kerr, Carrie Morgan, Tiffany Kurpiel and Amanda Rutledge.

The Church of St. Michael and all Angels is located at 1000 West 18th Street in Anniston. This concert is free and open to the public.
