Linn Appointed to State Education Commission

Andrew Grady Linn Jr., a Jacksonville State University graduate and Tuscaloosa businessman, has been appointed to the Alabama Commission on Higher Education by Gov. Bob Riley.

Linn's appointment is subject to confirmation by the 2006 Alabama senate.

Linn, representing the state at-large district, is President and CEO of Southland International Trucks, Inc. He served as the Chairman of the Alabama Trucking Association in 2002-2003.

Linn, who is on the board of directors for the Merchants and Farmers Bank, is a member of the Tuscaloosa Chamber of Commerce and was named Tuscaloosa's Business Man of the Year in 1997.

Linn spent several years as a member of the University Transportation Center for Alabama and as president of the Shelton State Foundation in 2004.
