JSU Music Faculty Present Gala Recital Oct. 7

Members of the music faculty of the David L. Walters Department of Music will present a gala recital to benefit the Music Legacy Scholarship Fund on Friday, 7 October at 7:30 p.m. in Mason Hall Performance Center on campus.

The varied program will include a wide variety of selections from the eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth century musical repertories, from opera to Broadway, from works by Johann Hummel to those by George Gershwin. Also included will be original songs composed by JSU faculty member, Dr. Gail Steward.

The JSU music faculty is the largest group of professionally trained musicians in northeast Alabama. As well as teachers, they are active performers, writers, composers and theorists who are engaged in a wide range of musical activities. They present this yearly showcase program in addition to numerous individual performances throughout the year.

This program is free although donations to support the Legacy Scholarship are gratefully accepted. The public is cordially invited to attend this event.
