Retirement Reception Honors Mrs. Martha McCormick


Dr. Meehan Presents Plaque to Mrs. Martha McCormick at retirement reception.

A retirement reception held at the newly renovated Ayers Hall on Friday, August 26, 2005 honored Mrs. Martha McCormick, former head of the Department of Mathematical, Computing, and Information Sciences (MCIS) at Jacksonville State University. Attendees included family and friends of Mrs. McCormick, as well as current and former faculty, staff, and students of JSU. Dr. William A. Meehan, Dr. Rebecca O. Turner, Dr. Ron White, Mrs. McCormick’s predecessor, Dr. Fred Kelley, current MCIS department head, and Mary Jane Peters, current MCIS faculty member offered formal best wishes.

Mrs. McCormick was presented a retirement plaque by Dr. Meehan for her 21 years of service to JSU, a memory scrapbook compiled by her daughter, Lizz McCormick Rivera, and a plaque from the MCIS department in appreciation for her diligent efforts in acquiring the modern Ayers Hall facilities for departmental use.
