LEA 135th Basic Session Graduates

The graduation ceremony for the 135th Basic Training Class of the Northeast Alabama Law Enforcement Academy (LEA) was held September 15. Class officers included Stephen Darrenkamp, Shelby County Sheriff's Office, President; Jared Freeman, Vestavia Hills Police Dept., Vice President; Katrina Johnson, Athens Police Dept., Secretary/Treasurer; and Shane Farthing, Anniston Police Dept., Chaplain. John Whisenant, Gadsden Police Dept., was presented with the Academic Award; Benjamin Fountain, Scottsboro Police Dept., received the Firearms Award; and Stephen Darrenkamp, Shelby County Sheriff's Office, received the Director's Award.
