PEEHIP Changes in Premium Payments for 9-Month Faculty

SUBJECT:†††††† Faculty Escrow

 

In order to accommodate changes mandated by PEEHIP to their billing system, we will no longer be able to honor the current method of allowing 9-month faculty who do not escrow to submit personal checks for PEEHIP premium payments during the months in which you do not receive a payroll check.

 

As a result of this change, any 9-month faculty currently not escrowing will need to decide upon one of two options: (1) elect to have 9-month salary escrowed over 12 months or (2) have PEEHIP insurance premiums for the 12 month period deducted in 9 months.This will also include any flexible spending plan deductions, if enrolled, for PEEHIPís plan only.

 

To begin salary escrow, you will need to complete the Salary Escrow form which can be found on the Human Resources-Forms page on our website, or you may contact the Office of Human Resources at ext. 5007.Forms must be completed and returned no later than Monday, August 22, 2005 and will become effective September 1, 2005.If we have not heard from you on or before the deadline, method of deduction will automatically be setup under option two, deducting premiums for 12 months over 9 months.
