Final Introductory Blackboard Training Workshop of the Summer Aug. 10

The Office of Distance Education is offering the final Introductory Blackboard Training Workshop of the summer for faculty, staff, and administrators. This workshop is intended to familiarize you with the Blackboard e-learning software platform that delivers a powerful, user-friendly environment for online or supplemental online teaching and learning.

Goals of this workshop include:

  • Providing an overview of online learning policies such as copyright and instructional design, as well as online student characteristics. ***We will also be reviewing the NEW course copy procedures that are required with our recent integration and move to ASP***

  • Familiarization with the navigation and basic course design in Blackboard

  • Practice adding course documents such as PowerPoints and Word files to your course through multiple methods

  • Use of the WYSIWYG Text Editor Toolbar that allows instructors & students to copy/paste content into Bb without losing any formatting, or having to know HTML
There is no fee for this workshop, and it is open to faculty, staff, and administrators who may be interested in using the Blackboard platform, who need a refresher with any of the topics described above, or who would like to learn about the many valuable features available in Blackboard.

The workshop will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2005 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Further information about this workshop will be provided upon registration. To register for this workshop, please reply to this email srestaur@jsu.edu with "Enroll in Introductory Bb Workshop", and include at least your first and last name in the body of your email.

Please submit your request no later than Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at noon. You will receive a confirmation email that you have been enrolled into the workshop prior to the day of the training.
