President William A. Meehan confers an honorary doctorate degree upon Congressman Robert Aderholt of Haleyville, graduation speaker, during JSU's commencement Friday night.  Congressman Aderholt has been a champion for one of Jacksonville State University's most active projects—the Little River Canyon Field School. Through the support he has given the project, the university is on the threshold of constructing an environmentally friendly building for Field School classes and workshops in order for citizens of Alabama of all ages to better explore and enjoy more than 60 acres adjoining the Little River Canyon National Preserve.
