JSU Drama Student Drowns

Jacksonville State University student Brian J. Roberson, Jr. drowned in a tragic accident during a family outing at Smith Lake. The accident occurred at Smith Lake near Cullman. Roberson was from Brewton. Visitation will be at Riverchase Presbyterian Church in Birmingham on July 6, 2005 from 5 - 7 p.m. Roberson was a junior majoring in drama.

Roberson and his family were enjoying a game of volleyball when the ball started to roll toward the lake. Roberson jumped into the water to retrieve the ball.

Roberson was a member of the chorus line in the recent productions of The Mystery of Edwin Drood and The West Side Story. He also played LeBeau in the production of Shakespeare’s As You Like It. Memorial services will be July 7, 2005 at Riverchase Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m.
