Pinhoti Trail Hike: Shoal Creek Jan. 22

14 December, 2004 — Mountain streams, ravines, long-leaf pine stands, and incredible vistas . . . Join us for the first hike of the season along the Shoal Creek portion of Alabama’s longest hiking trail. Jeff Gardner, USFS, will assist hikers with winter tree identification and lead you through one of the most diverse sections of Talladega National Forest.

Bring a daypack with lunch, water, and snacks. Be sure to check weather forecasts and dress accordingly. This is a moderately strenuous hike that requires some experience and is accordingly not recommended for children under 12. Pre-registration is required.

  • Location of Event: Talladega National Forest (20 minutes East of Jacksonville)
  • Admission Charge: $10.00 adult; $5.00 children (12 - 17 years of age)
