Piano Workshop 2004 Oct. 22-23

21 October 2004 -- The JSU David L. Walters Department of Music will present Piano Workshop 2004 on Oct 22-23 at Mason Hall. It includes opportunities for students to have private lessons, master classes, and seminars in jazz improvisation as well. They will also have the opportunity to perform on the final concert. Presentation topics include "Managing Performance Anxiety," "Exploring How Analysis is the Secret to Great Performance" and the "Role of Parents in Students' Music Study." Any parent of a music student as well as all piano teachers are invited to attend the workshop whether you have students attending or not.

The current JSU piano faculty, Dr. Gail Steward, Dr. Wendy Channel Faughn, Dr. Legare McIntosh, and Dr. Susie F. Dempsey (Emerita), along with special guest artists, Dr. Ruth Rendleman (Montclair State University, NJ) and Dr. Mark Laughlin (D.M.A. University of South Carolina), will serve as instructors for this event.

The public is also invited to attend a solo recital by Dr. Rendleman, guest artist, on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m., October 22 in the Performance Center of Mason Hall on the JSU campus. There is no admission charge for the recital.
