JSU Auctioneer School Begins Aug. 20

18 AUGUST 2004 — The Jacksonville State University Auctioneer School will begin 20 August 2004 at 4 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church's McWhorter Center in Jacksonville.

The School will last for ten days beginning on Friday and continuing through Sunday, August 29. Tuition is $625 to attend the school to work toward becoming a licensed auctioneer. To register for the school or to get further information, call program coordinator Rita Smith at 782-5022.

"This the second school we've conducted," said Ms. Smith, and we hope it is as successful as it was the first. Everyone bonded and felt as if they were friends forever."

An auction will be conducted for the public at the McWhorter Center on August 28 with a preview at 5 p.m. and the auction beginning at 6 p.m. The students will be the auctioneers for this charity auction with proceeds going to the Jacksonville Christian Outreach Center and the Retired Senior Volunteer Programs. The public is encouraged to bring items for the auction from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Friday, August 27.
