UA Profs Contribute to JSU's Books for Baghdad Project


Professors from the University of Alabama delivered�their first shipment of textbooks to Jacksonville State University for the Books for Baghdad program Friday afternoon. Dr. John Vincent, second from left,�and Dr. Stephen Woski, third from left, both of the UA Chemistry Department, dropped off�one ton of books at JSU's Martin Hall where Dr. Kelly Gregg, far left,� and Dr. Safaa Al-Hamdani, far right, who organized the project,�received the books for donation to Baghdad University. Included in the shipment was a complete set of journals from the American Chemical Society. The more than 500 books valued at $10,000 were�all from UA's�Chemistry Department. Other professors in other departments at UA are in the process of gathering books. Cash donations for�shipping the books to Baghdad University are still being sought. Those wishing to donate may� make checks payable to Books for Baghdad and�send in care of�Dr. Safaa Al-Hamdani, Jacksonville State University, 700 Pelham Rd. N., Jacksonville, AL 36265.
