Brante To Speak Thursday |

November 5, 2003 -- Morten Brante will speak at Jacksonville
State University Thursday, November 6th at 11:15 in Room 101 Merrill
Hall. Brante is the Managing Principal for HP Enterprise Business Practice in the Americas. In this role, he is responsible for leading sales and delivery of e-business services in CRM, Portals, e-commerce, Enterprise Integration and Broadband & Media services. Over the past year Morten and his management team have led an impressive revenue growth which has put HP on the map as a strong provider of e-business services. An award-winning filmmaker and television producer, whose credits include more than 100 TV shows for Nickelodeon, VH-1, ESPN and others, Morten decided to put his fine arts and international business skills to use in the business world and joined IBM in 1994. In addition to the creative leadership experience he brought to IBM, Morten played significant roles in e-business management, new business development, international marketing, consultative sales, project management and IT application development. He also served as an advisor to IBM e-business executives and became one of the youngest participants on IBM's Corporate Technology Council. Morten moved rapidly through the management ranks at IBM and by 2000 he served as the Center Executive for IBM Global Services’ largest Innovation Center. He led a talented crew of 400 creative, strategic and technical professionals who have been responsible for producing a series of exciting projects. High-profile Web sites include the GRAMMYs (since 1998) and major sports events such as the PGA Masters Tournament, the French Open and the record-breaking Wimbledon matches. In addition, world-class e-business solutions have been designed for Macy's, Hertz and The New York Stock Exchange among many others. A native of Norway, Morten graduated from Oregon State University in 1991 with a BA in International Business and Management. He continued his studies at Florida State University where he completed a Master of Fine Arts in Film and Television Production. He lives in Atlanta, GA with his wife Sheri (OSU ’91) and four beautiful children. His community involvement includes being on the board of directors for Atlanta College of Art, giving guest lectures at Georgia State University and mentoring young professionals in Georgia. |
