Progress of the Alabama Centennial of Flight Exhibition


November 3, 2003 -- Derek Conrad Brown, of the Aerospace Development Center, reports on the progress of the Alabama Centennial of Flight Exhibition. The exhibition was recently on display at the Colonial Mall Auburn-Opelika. Use the following link and choose “Photos” http://aerospace.state.al.us/centennial/ to see photos from the event.

The center expresses thanks to the following organizations who were present with displays and information in addition to their core exhibit at the Mobile exhibition: Alabama Aerospace Teachers’ Association, Auburn University, 4-H Aerospace Education programs, Auburn University Air Force ROTC, Auburn University Department of Aerospace Engineering, McWane Center, NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, National Park Service’s Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site, U.S. Space and Rocket Center, U.S. Army, and U.S. Navy, as well as the staff of Colonial Mall Auburn-Opelika for serving as excellent and responsive hosts. The center also extends special thanks to Dr. Tony Cook for helping them set up the core exhibit late Thursday night, the students of the AU Department of Aerospace Engineering honorary for building a very impressive display just for COF, and all the volunteers who manned the different exhibits over the weekend.

The next Centennial of Flight event will be held in Montgomery, November 14-15 at EASTDALE MALL.  The mall is located at 5501 Atlanta Highway in Montgomery. Come by to see this exhibit if you will be in the area.
