JSU employees who access the newswire on campus -- that is, behind the university's "fire wall" -- are able to access Anniston Star articles linked to the news wire, as JSU has a subscription to the Star's internet service. Everyone else is unable to view the articles unless they have a paid subscription.
To remedy this, in part, the Star has graciously granted the News Bureau permission to publish abstracts of selected articles pertaining to JSU and higher education and to link to free articles that they post to their affiliate, MSNBC. This will allow alumni and other off-campus users to read the main points of their copyrighted material. We will begin posting abstracts effective later today, including the one about the DROP program. If you have questions, contact alharris@jsu.edu.
