Gov. Riley To Speak
at Tax Reform Rally
in Jacksonville


August 24, 2003 -- Gov. Bob Riley will speak to voters during a rally on the Jacksonville City Square at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, just five days before the September 9th referendum on the Tax Reform and Accountability package.

Parking is available at several public, church and business locations adjacent to the square or within easy walking distance.

The program will include performances by the Jacksonville State University Marching Southerners.

Joining in support with Riley, other speakers will include JSU Student Government Assoc. President Chris Cook, Faculty Senate President Bill Hug, Jacksonville Mayor Jerry Smith, and JSU President Bill Meehan. Gordon Stone, executive director of the Higher Education Partnership, will deliver closing comments.
