Homecoming Pageant Selects Top Ten Homecoming Queen Contestants

JACKSONVILLE -- 10/25/02 -- Jacksonville State University's Hoedown Homecoming officially began Thursday night with the selection of the top ten Homecoming queen contestants during the 2002 Homecoming Pageant, which was held in Leone Cole Auditorium. Twenty-three students from JSU were sponsored by various student organizations to compete for the title.

JSU's 2002 Homecoming Top Ten are:

  • Missy Almaroad is from Jacksonville, Alabama. She is a junior majoring in elementary education and is sponsored by Zeta Tau Alpha.
  • Ashley Downing is from Anniston, Alabama. She is sophomore majoring in biology and her minor is business. Downing is sponsored by Sigma Phi Epsilon.
  • Jenny Earley is from McCalla, Alabama. She is a senior majoring in elementary education and is sponsored by Phi Mu.
  • Kelly Hamilton is from Jemison, Alabama. She is a junior majoring in nursing and is sponsored by Kappa Alpha Order.
  • Carrie Howard is from Selma, Alabama. She is a senior majoring in communication and her minor is Spanish. Howard is sponsored by Alpha Xi Delta.
  • Alesha Ingram is from Louisville, Kentucky. She is a junior majoring in sociology and her minor is management. Ingram is sponsored by Delta Sigma Theta.
  • Cambrey Jordan is from Birmingham, Alabama. She is a sophomore majoring in political science and pre-law and her minor is business administration. Jordan is sponsored Zeta Tau Alpha.
  • Amber Reid is from Weaver, Alabama. She is a senior majoring in communication and her minor is music. Reid is sponsored by Zeta Tau Alpha.
  • Ashley Stedham is from Anniston, Alabama. She is a sophomore double majoring in marketing and fashion merchandising. Stedham is sponsored by Alpha Omicron Pi.
  • Emily Williams is from Hokes Bluff, Alabama. She is a sophomore majoring in mathematics and her minor is Spanish. Williams is sponsored by Tau Sigma Lambda.
Voting for the 2002 Homecoming Court is on October 31 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the fourth floor of the TMB. All JSU students are eligible to vote. Five finalists will be selected from the top ten to compose the 2002 Homecoming Court.
