JACKSONVILLE -- October 15, 2002 -- Dr. Wendy Channel will present a piano
recital beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29
at the Mason Hall Performance Center at
Jacksonville State University.
Dr. Channel is a member of the piano and
accompanying faculty at JSU. A native of West Virginia, Dr. Channel
received her undergraduate
education at Florida Atlantic University where she was a University
Scholar as well as recipient of the Esther Boyer Griswold
Performing Arts Scholarship. She received her master's degree and
doctorate from the University of South Carolina. Her teachers have
included Heather Coltman, Judith Burganger, Charles Fugo and John
Kenneth Adams.
Dr. Channel has performed throughout the southeast as a piano soloist
and collaborative musician. She has wide experience as an accompanist
and has served as a vocal coach for numerous singers in the United
States and Italy.
Dr. Channel's program will include Rondo, K. 511, by W. A. Mozart,
Quaderno Musicale di Annalibera by Luigi Dallapiccola and Variations and
Fugue on a Theme of Handel by Johannes Brahms.
This concert is presented by the JSU Department of Music and is free.
