JACKSONVILLE -- October 15, 2002 -- Mike Mullen of Troy State University will speak at Jacksonville State
University on the topic "Ecological Health of Wadeable Streams in the Choctawhatchee River and Prescriptions for
Restoration" during the next Coosa Group of the Sierra Club meeting beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday November 14th in
Room 234, Martin Hall.
Mullen is director of the Center for Environmental Research and Service and in charge of the Non-Point Source
Research Center at TSU . He holds a B.S. from Athens College, an M.S. from the University of Arkansas Graduate
Institute of Technology, and an M.S. from the University of Alabama at Huntsville. He has taught courses in the areas of
pollution science, limnology, environmental geology and hydrology, and environmenal science. Mullen's research interests
include watersheds, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, citizen-based water quality monitoring, and
human aspects of watershed management.
