Calhoun County Chamber's Business Expo 2002 Offers Seminars


JACKSONVILLE -- September 27, 2002 -- The Jacksonville State University Small Business Development Center, the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce, and the Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) will present two seminars on Tuesday, October 22, 2002, in conjunction with the Chamber's Business Expo 2002. These seminars will be held in Room A of the Anniston City Meeting Center located at 1615 Noble Street.

A seminar entitled "Introduction to Federal Taxes for Small Business/Self Employed" will be presented from 9:00-10:00 AM. Marjolaine Butler, Senior Tax Specialist, with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), will present information on how to comply with IRS rules and regulations when starting and operating a small business. Each attendee will be given a CD ROM which includes information and resources to help in understanding federal business tax responsibilities.

From 1l:00 AM to 12:00 a seminar entitled "Connecting with Your Customer" will be presented by Iris Williams, Manager of Training Programs at UAB. This seminar will discuss methods of improving customer service and building a loyal customer base.
