JSU Hosts Hispanic Heritage Luncheon Oct. 2


JACKSONVILLE -- September 20, 2002 -- Congress recently designated National Hispanic Heritage Month. The 31-day celebration lasts from September 15th through October 15th annually as a celebration of cultural contributions of Hispanic Americans.

Jacksonville State University's Office of Multicultural Services is sponsoring a Hispanic Heritage luncheon Wednesday, October 2 at the Gamecock Center at noon. The luncheon will feature two guest speakers: attorney Moses Vela and Birmingham businesswoman Alba Hernandez.

The luncheon costs $2.00 for students and $4.00 for faculty, staff and guests. Tickets can be purchased at the Multicultural Services office located on the 4th floor of the Theron Montgomery building.
