Fundraising Concert To Support
the Student Legacy Scholarship


JACKSONVILLE -- September 9, 2002 -- Jacksonville State University's Department of Music will hold a "Welcome Back" faculty recital at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 15 as a fundraiser to establish the Student Legacy Scholarship.

This first annual event will raise funds, which will be awarded next year as tuition scholarships for the children of JSU alumni. Admission to the concert will be a donation in any amount. The performance will take place in the Mason Hall Performance Center.

The pieces to be performed will include a combination of solo and chamber music and run the gamut from classical to jazz. Some of the composers to be represented are George Frederic Handel, Francis Poulenc, and George Gershwin.

  • Samuel Brown, Tenor
  • Wendy Channel, Piano
  • Patricia Corbin, Mezzo-Soprano
  • Chip Crotts, Trumpet
  • Mark Fifer, Piano
  • Tony Logsden, Saxophone
  • Legare McIntosh, Piano
  • John Merriman, Trumpet
  • James Roberts, Trombone
  • Gail Steward, Piano
  • Teresa Stricklin, Soprano
  • Tracy Tyler, Percussion
