JACKSONVILLE -- August 28, 2002 --
Jacksonville State University, TV-24 and The Anniston Star will sponsor a
televised debate between Mike Rogers (Republican) and Joe Turnham
(Democrat), candidates for Alabama's third congressional district, on
Tuesday, September 3 at 8 p.m. The hour-long debate will be carried live by
TV-24 and may possibly be rebroadcast (details to be announced). The
candidates will be questioned by invited journalists. Because a live
audience is not possible due to space limitations, please mark your
calendar and plan to watch this important event.
