Jennifer Clements Receives Gweneth Mulder Scholarship


JACKSONVILLE -- November 27, 2001 -- Each Fall and Spring semester the Department of Sociology and Social Work awards the Gweneth Mulder Scholarship to an outstanding student, based primarily on academic achievement. This award carries honor plus a $100 stipend. Competition is keen and the department is proud of all applicants; all are fine students.

For Fall Semester 2001, this award goes to Jennifer Christine Clements.

Ms. Clements has a perfect 4.0 grade point average in both her major of Social Work and over-all. Jennifer has received several scholarships; was inducted into Phi Eta Sigma, the freshman honor society; has been on the JSU President’s List each semester of her JSU career; has been on the National Dean’s list twice; and has received the All-American Scholar Award twice.

Ms. Clements is a member of the Social Work Club. She has worked as a volunteer in the local Boys and Girls Club. She is a member of several religious organizations and active in various religious programs.

Jennifer Clements is the daughter of James and Jean Clements, currently living in Hatton, Alabama, in Lawrence County. Mr. Clements is a retired Army sergeant, and as a member of a military family, Jennifer has lived in several U.S. states and Germany.

In accepting this award Ms. Clements wrote that she credits all her successes "to hard work and a lot of faith in and help from God, her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.”
