JSU Spring 2008 Graduation

The Spring 2008 graduation ceremony was held Friday, May 2 at Paul Snow Stadium.  Graduates are pictured here in their academic regalia following the procession just prior to the commencement ceremony.



Eleven graduates excelled in their academic work, all having maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA throughout their years as a college student. University JSU President Dr. Bill Meehan is shown here with these top graduates of the Spring 2008 Class. Pictured here, from left, are Julie Marie Frasier, Kathryn N. Greer, Wendy Dumas Gregory, Jade C. Hill, Rebekah Fran Holley, Bobbie Davis Maddox, Dr. Meehan, Erin Marie Marbut, Astin Leigh Mobley, David Michael Robbins and Tiffany Renea Tolleson.

Keynote speaker Dr. Harvey H. (Hardy) Jackson III, JSU Professor and Head of the Department of History and Foreign Languages currently and the University's Eminent Scholar in History effective August, 2008, delivers the Commencement address.



The conferring of degrees is a special moment that includes moving the tassel on the mortarboard from right to left. In this photo a JSU graduate of the Class of 2008 prepares to participate in this ceremonial act.
