LeaderShape Institute in Alabama

 

 

Jacksonville State University is very excited to be participating in the 6th annual LeaderShape Institute in Alabama. Students from all over the state of Alabama will be taking part in this exciting leadership opportunity. The LeaderShape Institute is an intensive weeklong program designed to give students an opportunity to gain insight into leadership development. LeaderShape will be held during the week of May 18-23, 2008 at Camp Sumatanga. The cost of tuition for LeaderShape is $1,000.00 but the JSU Office of Student Life will pay each of our 5 JSU student’s tuition in full.  Housing and meals will be provided.

 

The Office of Student Life is looking for 5 energetic and dedicated JSU students to be a part of this training program. Whether you are an experienced leader or just starting out on your quest with leadership, this program is for you.  During the week, along with students from across the state, you will embark on a journey that will provide the opportunity to grow personally as you begin to realize the part that you play in the larger scope of your community. As you work along side other students and faculty members to create your personal vision, you will have the chance to discover and strengthen your value system, behavior patterns, and overall perceptions. At the end of the week it is our desire that you will take the skills that you have learned and implement them in your organization, campus, and community.

 Since there are a limited number of spaces we will be conducting a selection process. The selection committee will use your completed application, recommendation letters, and interview in order to make their selection.  Please return your completed LeaderShape Application to the Office of Student Life, 402 Theron Montgomery Building, by 4:30 p.m.  on April 7, 2008.
