WJXS TV24 Premieres New Show JSU Today

JSU Today is a new half hour television show featuring people, places and events associated with Jacksonville State University.  JSU Today is produced by JSU’s Television Services Department and is hosted by TV Services director Mike Hathcock.

“This is a program that we’ve wanted to produce for sometime, but we just didn’t have the manpower to do it before”, according to Hathcock.

The program will air three times weekly on WJXS TV24, at 9 p.m. on Monday night, 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday night, and at 7:30 p.m. on Friday night.

Hathcock said “These are very good time slots and, hopefully, the show will be seen by a large audience.”

Each JSU Today show will feature a person of the week, a JSU athletics segment hosted by Mike Parris, a segment featuring the Student Government Association, a JSU events calendar, JSU “Fast Facts,” and other Jacksonville State news.  The first JSU Today show features Dr. Cynthia Harper, Dean of the College of Education and Professional Studies, SGA President David Jennings, and includes coverage of the news conference announcing the non-renewal of  Men’s Basketball coach Mike LaPlante’s contract.

WJXS TV24 has a coverage area that includes nine counties in Northeast Alabama. For updated information, go to http://tv24.tv/.
