Birmingham Art Music Alliance to Perform Technology Enhanced Concert at JSU

On Wednesday, February 20, the David L. Walters Music Department at Jacksonville State University will proudly present a program of new music by Alabama composers performed by members of the BAMA Players. The recital will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the Mason Hall Performance Center on campus. Admission is free to the public and all are welcome to attend.

The Birmingham Art Music Alliance will present a program that includes an electric cello, acoustic instruments playing with electronics, and video accompaniment. Performing are members of the accomplished BAMA Players, including flutist Donnie Ashworth, violinist Karen Bentley Pollick, pianist Adam Bowles, cellist Craig Hultgren and clarinetist/saxophonist Lori Neprud-Ardovino.

This concert is part of the group’s Technology Enhanced Tour of North Alabama and is a continuation of outreach and education efforts to bring new, non-commercial music by local composers to citizens of Alabama. Concerts in the series are funded by the Alabama State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.

In addition to the Wednesday evening performance, cellist Craig Hultgren will be presenting a lecture demonstration on his electric cello at 5:00 p.m. in Mason Hall, Room 222.

Parking for the events is conveniently located adjacent to Mason Hall On Trustee Circle. For more information, contact Dr. Mike D’Ambrosio at (256) 782-8235.
