SGA announces applications are now available online for
Mr. & Miss Jax State and Mr. & Miss Friendly Elections.

Students vying for these titles will be selected through an SGA Election to

be held on Tuesday, March 4 and Wednesday, March 5 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. in the TMB auditorium in conjunction with the SGA General Elections.

 

Organizations may nominate individuals for these prestigious titles, but their nominees must sign the application form agreeing to seek the title in accordance with SGA requirements and regulations. Students may also elect to run for these titles without being affiliated with an organization; students choosing this option must submit a signed petition with 25 students names along with their student numbers. (A form for compiling student names and numbers is included here to be used by those students choosing to submit a petition. See 2nd page of application.)

The following requirements and regulations taken from Chapter 705 of the SGA Senate Code of Laws apply to this election.

Chapter 705: Election of Mr. & Miss Friendly and Mr. & Miss Jax State

705.1   Elections for Mr. & Miss Friendly and Mr. & Miss Jax State shall be held each academic year at the discretion of the S.G.A. Executive Board, Elections Clerk, and Director of Student Life.

705.2   All election procedures from Chapter 701 and 703 shall apply for the election of Mr. & Miss Friendly and Mr. & Miss Jax State.

705.3   No candidate may spend more than $50.00 on the election.

705.4   All candidates must submit an itemized list of their campaign expenses no later than 24 hours after the election. This list should be accompanied by the necessary receipts to verify the itemization.

705.5   Candidates for Mr. & Miss Friendly and Mr. & Miss Jax State must currently have at least a 2.3 GPA, be active in at least two on-campus activities, and be full-time students.

All applications are due in Office of Student Life, Thursday, February 14th by 4:30 p.m.
