Academe Meeting to Feature "Opera at JSU"
Presented by Dr. Nathan Wight
Dr. Nathan Wight, a member of Jacksonville State University’s music department faculty, will discuss “Opera at JSU” at the January 31 meeting of Academe. The meeting will be held in 1101 C, Houston Cole Library, at 3:15 p.m.

Dr. Wight, who has just completed a successful operatic production of Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor, will discuss the past, present, and future of opera on our campus and his vision of the ways opera at Jacksonville State University will be a “microcosm” of the broader world of opera.

All faculty are encouraged to attend to learn about the new directions opera is moving toward at JSU. Interested staff, students, and the public are also welcome.
