WISE Joins Global V-Day Movement:
Holding Interest Meeting to Enlist Support

WISE presents V-Day: The Vagina Monologues 2008

WISE (Women's Interest Support and Empowerment) is sponsoring Eve Ensler's "The Vagina Monologues" here at JSU! Through V-Day campaigns, local volunteers and college students produce annual benefit performances of the Vagina Monologues to raise awareness and funds for anti-violence groups within their community. Funds raised by this event will go to supporting New Orleans rape crisis centers, The Daybreak Crisis Recovery Center and the WISE Legacy Scholarship.

Who can be involved? . . . ANYONE and EVERYONE no matter your age, gender, race, religion or orientation. JSU Alumni are encouraged to participate! No acting experience required!

An interest meeting is being held on Thursday, January 24th at 6:00 p.m. in Brewer Hall - Room 330 to enlist support for this movement at JSU and find those interested in helping us put on a V-Day benefit production. Thousands of V-Day benefit productions are taking place all over the world between January 1st and March 31st of 2008! V-Day productions have the option to feature three different events: benefit performances of The Vagina Monologues, staged readings of V-Day’s A Memory, A Monologue A Rant and A Prayer and screenings of V-Day’s documentary Until The Violence Stops.

If you are unable to attend but would still like to be involved, or if you would like additional information, please contact Trace with WISE at 282-2217.
