JSU Lead Interpreter Selected
to Sign Traditional Poem
for Anniston Star Multimedia Site

The Anniston Star’s website (www.annistonstar.com) published an online video of Alfred Lord Tennyson’s poem “Ring Out, Wild Bells” read by various members of the community “as a salute to the promises of a new year.

On New Year’s Day in 1903, Harry M. Ayers, the late founder of The Anniston Star, was en route to the United States after his parents’ missionary trip to China.  He celebrated the New Year in Japan by reading Tennyson’s salute.  It has become a tradition at The Star to print the poem on the front page every Jan. 1.

This year, The Star offers the poem online…”  It is a great honor that The Anniston Star chose JSU’s very own Lead Interpreter, Stephen Cain, Disability Support Services, to sign a verse of the poem with a harmonious voice-over.
