Miss Alabama to Perform
at Miss Point Mallard Pageant

Newly crowned Miss Alabama Jamie Langley, a former Miss Point Mallard, waits to go on stage during the evening gown competition at the 2006 Miss Point Mallard pageant. She will perform at this year's pageant on the Fourth of July.

Jamie Langley, the newly crowned Miss Alabama, will be a guest performer at the Miss Point Mallard Pageant on the Fourth of July.

The vocalist and two-time talent preliminary winner in the Miss Alabama competition is a student at Jacksonville State University. She is from Wadley.

This will be a return to a stage familiar to Langley, who served as Miss Point Mallard 2004. She competed for the Miss Point Mallard title again in 2006 and was first runner-up.

Her platform issue is cardiac care.

Langley is creator and host of the television show From the Heart and has written and performed in several public service announcements for the American Heart Association.

Langley, a college ambassador, vice president of Phi Theta Kappa and president of Baptist Campus Ministries, has performed three times at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

She is expected to sing "Listen" from the movie Dreamgirls during this pageant.
