The 2007 concert season will feature Saturday concerts of the ASO performing classical and light “Pop” favorites under the stars in a beautiful, outdoor setting. Hear the best music that Alabama has to offer and make memories by enjoying this family friendly and festive atmosphere. Supporters of the "Longleaf Series" hope that this summer's concerts will continue to attract the arts to this beautiful, family-friendly location.

Date:     Saturday - June 2, 2007 

Where:  The Longleaf Park (also known as Duck Pond Park) at the former Fort McClellan in Anniston, Alabama. Plan to relax on the grass with a picnic that you've ordered ahead or packed at home. Bring a chair or blanket and of course – bring friends!

Time:     Grounds open at 6:00 p.m., and concerts start at 8:00 p.m. at Longleaf Park, McClellan. or e-mail pconroy@jsu.edu.


Fee:      Tickets can be purchased on campus at the TMB bookstore.

A celebration of the 30th anniversary of Star Wars. The orchestra will perform several popular favorites from the Star Wars epic. Patrons are encouraged to dress as their favorite character, so don't be surprised to see Chewbacca or Darth Vader relaxing on the lawn nearby.

Get out your Darth Vader, Chewbacca, Luke Skywalker costumes and light sabers, the ASO will perform selections from the Star Wars movies. And we're not kidding about the costumes, the ASO is asking folks to dress as their favorite. Members of the 501 Legion, a group of Star Wars re-enactors, also will be wandering about in full regalia.
