JSU Physical Education Students and JSU Softball Team Members Hold "Olympics Day” at Spring Garden.
Spring Garden students represented different countries in the world, and competed for ribbons and medals in specific events.
“Olympic Day” served as a break from routine physical education classes, combining fun activities with physical exercise.
In addition to providing JSU physical education students a unique opportunity to learn, the event draws attention to the
importance of physical activity in our state and country.
Governor Bob Riley signed a Proclamation naming May 1-7 as Physical Education and Sport Week. The Proclamation
also stated that the Month of May is Physical Fitness and Sport Month. Events like “Olympic Day” at Spring Garden
play a large role in getting out the message of the importance of physical activity in our society.
