JSU to Participate in Day of Remembrance
for Victims of Virginia Tech Massacre

Dr. Meehan, president of Jacksonville State University, is calling on the University to join in observing the Day of Remembrance for the victims of the Virginia Tech massacre.  The University’s chimes will sound 32 times in honor of each of the victims at 11:00 a.m. CST (12:00 EST) today to be followed by a moment of silence.

Virginia Governor Timothy Kaine has declared today as a State Day of Mourning in Virginia, with a Noontime bell-ringing ceremony to be held. Communities all over the nation are joining in the observance with municipal and church bells being tolled in their memory.
