The Jacksonville State University SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) Team will compete for cash prizes at the Atlanta, GA SIFE USA Regional Competition on April 5, 2007. The event is one of the 17 SIFE USA Regional Competitions being held across the United States in March and April.

SIFE is an international, non-profit organization active on more than 1.400 university campuses in 48 countries. Their projects are judged at competition on creativity, innovation, and effectiveness.

During this academic year, the Jacksonville State University SIFE team organized 4 projects in the Calhoun County community, including Bizworld which teaches elementary children the basic functions of business. The students made friendship bracelets and sold their products to children in other classes. They were in charge of manufacturing, financing, marketing, and selling their products.

If Jacksonville State University SIFE wins at the Atlanta SIFE USA Regional Competition, the team will advance to the 2007 SIFE USA National Exposition in Dallas, Texas, May 6-8.
