Obituary of Blanche Colley



Blanche Faye Colley

Ms. Blanche Faye Colley, a faculty member of the College of Education and Professional Studies, Jacksonville State University, died on Saturday, March 17, 2007.

She was born on October 17, 1956 in Huntsville, Alabama. She received her bachelor’s degree from Alabama A&M University and a master’s degree from Jacksonville State University. Teaching for 28 years, her professional career began in the Public School Systems in Gadsden and Anniston, ending as Instructor Emerita in the College of Education and Professional Studies, Department of Curriculum and Instruction, Jacksonville State University.

She is survived by her mother, Eliza Thompson Colley of Gadsden, Alabama; two sisters, Deborah Colley Howard and Felicia Colley both of Huntsville, Alabama; brother, Robert Colley, III of Gadsden, Alabama; one niece, two nephews, one great-niece, two great-nephews, and a host of family and friends.

The funeral was held Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at the Royal Funeral Home Chapel in Huntsville. Donations to the American Cancer Society were requested in lieu of flowers.
