Blackboard Basic Content and Navigation
Training Workshop
On Monday, March 26, 2007 at 1:00 p.m., the Office of Distance Education will be offering the Blackboard Basic Content and Navigation Training Workshop. This is the second time this semester the workshop will be available for faculty, staff, and administrators.

The goal of this workshop is to familiarize users with the Blackboard e-learning software platform. The Blackboard course management system provides a powerful, user-friendly environment for online teaching and learning, as well as a supplement for videoconference and traditional classroom teaching and learning.

Goals of this workshop include:

• Provide an overview of online learning policies such as copyright and instructional design, as well as online student characteristics.
  
  
• Familiarization with the navigation structure and basic course design in Blackboard.
  
  
• Practice adding course documents, such as PowerPoint and Word files, to your course through multiple methods.
  
  
• Configuration of basic course settings in the Blackboard system.

This workshop is free of charge, and it is open to faculty, staff, and administrators who may be interested in using the Blackboard platform, who need a refresher with any of the topics described above, or who would like to learn about the many valuable features available in Blackboard.

The workshop will be held on Monday, March 26, from 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Further information about this workshop will be provided upon registration. To register for this workshop, please send an email to Misty Cobb (mcobb@jsu.edu) with "Enroll in Assessment Workshop" in the subject line. Please be sure to include your first and last name in the body of the email.

Please submit your request by no later than Friday, March 16, 2007 at noon. You will receive a confirmation email that you have been enrolled into the workshop with additional information upon registration.
