JSU A Cappella Choir to Perform
at ACDA Invitational Choral Festival

The Jacksonville State University A Cappella Choir has been selected to perform at the 1st Alabama American Choral Directors Association Invitational Choral Festival. The Festival will be held on Monday, February 26, 2007 at the Alys Stephens Center on the UAB campus in Birmingham. The JSU Choir will be performing at 3:00 p.m.

The purpose of this festival is to showcase exceptional choirs of all types from throughout the state. Other choirs performing at the festival include Enterprise High School, St. Paul's Episcopal School, Jefferson State Community College, Hoover High School, Simmons Middle School, Mortimer Jordan High School, Birmingham Boys Choir and Faulkner University. All of the choirs will have the opportunity to work with guest clinician, Kent Hatteburg, Director of Choral Activities at the University of Louisville.

A Cappella Choir is a 50-voice ensemble under the direction of Dr. Patricia Corbin, JSU Director of Choral Activities. The choir was recently invited to perform at the Alabama Music Educators Association In Service Conference at the University of Alabama and will join forces with the Calhoun County Civic Chorale to perform the Brahms German Requiem in April.
