Music at the Museum Flute Concert

Music at the Museum, a concert series chaired by JSU's Dr. Wendy Faughn, will present the "Magic Flutes" on March 4th at 3:00 p.m. Free and open to the public, the event will take place at the Anniston Museum of Natural History.

The "Magic Flutes of Alabama," under the direction of Kimberly Scott, is a professional flute choir based in Birmingham, Alabama. The choir is comprised of flutists from diverse ages, nationalities, and professions and the members reside in the Birmingham area and surrounding cities. The ensemble features four members of the flute family including piccolo, C flute, alto flute, and bass flute.

The "Magic Flutes" was founded in August 2004 and has been performing recitals and concerts throughout the Birmingham Area. Their repertoire ranges from a variety of classical music as well as original works for flute choir and flute quartet. They have performed for such organizations and institutions as Crescendo and the Alabama School of Fine Arts, and were recently featured on the Artists’ Series for Chapel in the Pines Presbyterian Church.

The Alabama Travel Council includes this concert in its list of upcoming events in the state. See "Discover Alabama: The Magic Flutes."
