AFCEC Super Conference 2007

The Alabama Federation of the Council for Exceptional Children (AFCEC) Super Conference 2007 is coming this week...Feb. 1st - 3rd at the Wynfrey Hotel in Birmingham. On-site registration will be available Thursday-Saturday. Continental breakfast will be provided on Friday and Saturday.

Thursday, February 1, is a preconference day. Preconference activities include visitation of model programs at The Horizons School and Mitchell's Place and a two-hour workshop at the Wynfrey Hotel on collaborative teaching with Theresa Farmer from the Alabama State Department of Education.

Preconference activities are free to registered conference participants. If you have not registered, on-site registration will be available at the Wynfrey on Thursday beginning at 7:00 a.m. For more details go to www.afcec.org and click on the conference link and then the preconference information link.

Registration begins at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday. General Sessions with keynote speakers will begin at 9:00 a.m. Dr. Temple Grandin will be the keynote speaker on Friday, February 2. Dr. Mabrey Whetstone, Director of Special Education Services at the Alabama State Department of Education, will be the keynote speaker on Saturday, February 3. Over 40 concurrent sessions and 12 mini-workshops will be offered. Check the website www.afcec.org for conference session details within the conference link.
