CAST to Take Local Audiences
on "The Trip To Bountiful"

CAST will take area theatergoers on a spirited journey to Bountiful, Texas during its presentation of the classic play "The Trip to Bountiful," February 8 – 11 and 15 – 18 at the JSU/McClellan Theatre.

The story of Mrs. Carrie Watts’ flight from the confinement of her son’s big city apartment toward her small hometown, "The Trip to Bountiful" first came to life as a television movie in 1953. Two years later author Horton Foote adapted it into an acclaimed Broadway play and, in 1985, an Academy Award winning movie for actress Geraldine Page.

CAST’s production of this moving drama stars Jacksonville’s Sylvia S. Malone as Mrs. Watts, Randy Davis and Denise Davis as her son and daughter-in-law and Sumer Buckner as the young traveler she meets on her journey.

Kimberley Dobbs, CAST’s Artistic Director and General Manager, will direct the production. Set design is by Jim Robinson.

Centered on the concept that “home is where the heart is”, "The Trip to Bountiful" makes for a perfect way to celebrate Valentine's with the one(s) you love!

Show times are at 8:00 p.m. February 8, 9, 10, 15, 16 and 17 and at 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 11 and 18.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $8 for students, with group rates available. Admission to all Thursday night CAST productions is “Pay-What-You-Can.”

The JSU /McClellan Theatre is located at 100 Gamecock Drive, on the former Fort McClellan property.

Reservations may be made by calling 820-2278 (CAST).
