WISE Meeting at Java Jolt

WISE (Women's Issues, Support and Empowerment) invites you to join them at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, January 19 at Java Jolt located on the square in Jacksonville.

This group represents a student support and educational group and is open to both men and women. The agenda for this meeting is to discuss activities for the Spring semester.

WISE is currently planning a Car Clinic to learn how to do minor car repairs (in March) and the Clothesline Project (in April) to raise awareness about violence against women.

The Clothesline Project (CLP) enables women affected by violence to express their emotions by decorating a shirt. They then hang the shirt on a clothesline to be viewed by others as testimony to the problem of violence against women. WISE collects donations or new t-shirts and/or fabric paint for the project.

For more information contact Dr. Tina Deshotels, Sociology, Ext. 5350, or tdeshotels@jsu.edu.
