The College of Arts and Sciences Student Symposium will be held in Houston Cole Library on February 14 and 15, 2007.  The intent of the symposium is to highlight the creative activities of JSU students in their respective academic fields.  Students who have completed original research either within a class or as an extracurricular activity are encouraged to participate in the symposium.  Papers and posters from Spring, Summer, and Fall 2006 semesters may be submitted.  Work from other semesters will be permitted if approved by the Symposium Committee.  For each department with at least three participants, the College of Arts and Sciences will present a $50 prize for the best presentation.

To participate in the symposium, an abstract of up to 400 words is required.  A bound copy of the abstracts will be published and presented to the participants, faculty advisors, participating departments, and the library.

Online registration and abstract submission forms will be available on the Arts and Sciences homepage on January 10.

The deadline for submission is JANUARY 19, 2007.
