Dr. Hill in AP Human Geography Reading

Dr. Miriam Helen Hill,  associate professor of geography, was selected to participate in the annual reading and scoring of the College Board’s Advanced Placement (AP) Human Geography Examinations this June in Clemson.

This year, the AP program in Human Geography had more than 21,000 exams, an increase of 7,000 from last year. These exams were evaluated by approximately 120 readers from the United States, Canada, and abroad.

In April, Dr. Hill was selected as one of the national raters that participated in the College Board Advance Placement Pilot Syllabus Audit Study conducted by the Center for Educational Policy Research at the University of Oregon.   Dr. Guillermo A. Francia, III, professor of computer science, participated in the comparable programs in Computer Science.
