Preview Show - JSU Spirit Drum and Bugle Corps

"Spirit" from JSU Drum and Bugle Corps, Jacksonville State University's summer music ensemble, will give a preview performance of their 2006 show Saturday night at Paul Snow Stadium.

Admission is free for Saturday's 8 p.m. performance, which will give the JSU community a preview of what to expect on Tuesday, July 18, when the university hosts the annual Spirit of America drum and bugle corps competition.

Six of the nation's finest drum corps, including the "Phantom Regiment" from Illinois, the "Boston Crusaders" and the hometown "Spirit," will go head-to-head in Paul Snow Stadium at July's Spirit of America show.

Tickets for the July 18 evening of musical pageantry are $10 - general admission, $15 - reserved and $25 for the red seats in the center of Paul Snow Stadium. Advance tickets are available online at www.dci.org or by phone at 800-495-7469. More information about the 7:30 p.m. show can be found at www.spiritdrumcorps.org.

Following Saturday night's show, the 135 young musicians and color guard members who make up "Spirit" from JSU will hit the road the following day on a 12,000-mile, eight-week tour culminating with the Drum Corps International World Championships in Madison, Wisconsin.
