Dr. Willie Hey Recipient of CDC/DHPE
Health Promotion Medal of Excellence Award



Dr. Willie Hey is pictured with Dr. Jim McVay, Past-President of the Directors of Health Promotion and Education and the Director of the Bureau of Health Promotion & Chronic Disease for the State of Alabama Department of Public Health.



Dr. Hey was the the 2005 recipient of the Centers for Disease Control/Directors of Health Promotion and Education (CDC/DHPE) Health Promotion Medal of Excellence Award.   This national award honors the achievements of a “state-level” health education/health promotion director or health educator whose work has made a contribution to the state’s capacity to apply science to the field of health education and health promotion. Dr. Hey was selected for this award because of his professional passion, dedication, and contributions to the public health field.
