Dr. Willie Hey Named 2006 Health Education Professional of the Year



Dr. Willie Hey who is currently a Professor of Health Education within the Department of Health, Physical Education & Recreation at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama was recently recognized as the 2006 Health Education Professional of the Year for Colleges/Universities by the American Association of Health Education (AAHE). Dr. Hey received the award at the AAHE Award Luncheon during the AAHPERD National Conference in Salt Lake City.

This national award is presented annually to recognize an individual who have made substantial contributions as a practitioner to professional practice of Health Education at the College/University level. He is pictured with AAHE Past President Dr. Randy Cottrell from the University of Cincinnati.

Dr. Hey also received the 2005 Alabama State AHPERD Honor Award which is the highest recognition awarded to members and recognizes outstanding contributions made to ASAHPERD and the fields of HPERD.
